Gibbs Import/ Export, L.L.C. Corporate Profile Gibbs Import/ Export, L.L.C. (Gibbs ImEx) is a family owned and operated business headquartered in Detroit, Michigan. Although formally founded in March, 2003, Gibbs ImExas has over fifty years of business, logistics, and delivery service experience. Mission Statement is to work collaboratively to move product from country to country and attain a branding position as the primary export arm of US Business suppliers of food, agricultural, and waste processing products associated with alternative energy. Gibbs ImExas business plan is supported by the fact that the US is promoting companies participating in the market to export US products as well as to support the effort to mitigate US-based landfills via the processing of waste materials into alternative fuels, thereby reducing the US dependence on foreign oil. We have forged relationships with several government entities, e.g., Department of Agriculture, US Small Business Administration, Department of Commerce, Michigan Department of Agriculture, US Export Assistance Center, etc. al. Additionally, Gibbs ImEx has a working relationship with appropriate US Embassies to qualify local buyers and attain market intelligence. The day-to-day operations of Gibbs ImEx consists of the principals Maurice Gibbs, President and CEO, Dorothy Davenport, Chairman / CFO, and Freddie Scott, Chief Business Development Officer, aggressively working to enhance business relationships with several supportive agencies as well as business development initiatives designed to build a business pipeline of foreign countries actively pursuing the purchase of such commodities, e.g., rubber, plastics, rice, wheat , almonds, dried fruit, dried milk, beef carcasses, etc. To date, the focus is on areas in Africa (Nigeria)and Asia (India and China). The company is flexible as it functions either as an outsource agent and/or broker for varied sized companies. The company also operates as a supplier to buyers utilizing the US AID program. In 2010 Gibbs IMEx established a joint venture with EnerTech RD LLC, founded by Tim Powell, one of the countryas leading experts and facilitators on waste processing and alternative fuel. Gibbs ImEx is approved to participate in the USDA GSM 102 and GSM 103 programs such as the Commodity Credit Corporation (CCC) Export Credit Guarantee Program and the USDA Supplier Credit Guarantee Program.
